Terms of Service

These terms govern your download, purchase, and use of Cortext. By using Cortext, you agree to them.

Last updated: June 19, 2026

1. Eligibility and authority

You must be legally able to enter into these terms. If you use Cortext for an organization, you confirm that you have authority to accept these terms for that organization.

2. Trial and license

Cortext includes a seven-day trial. A valid purchase grants you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the purchased version of Cortext on up to two activated devices.

The license is a one-time purchase rather than a subscription. It does not transfer ownership of Cortext or its source code, and it may not be resold, shared, sublicensed, or used to provide access to unrelated third parties.

3. Payments and refunds

Payments are processed by Stripe. Prices, taxes, currency conversion, and payment methods may be determined at checkout. Any refund rights provided by applicable law remain unaffected. For purchase issues, contact hello@cortext.app.

4. Your files and content

You retain ownership of your files, prompts, notes, and other content. Cortext does not claim ownership of them. You are responsible for having the rights and permissions needed to process content with Cortext and any connected AI service.

Keep backups appropriate to the value of your data. Version history and restore tools reduce risk but are not a substitute for an independent backup.

5. Third-party AI and other services

Cortext can connect to third-party model providers, compatible API endpoints, Stripe, and other services. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms, privacy policies, availability, fees, and usage limits.

Model output may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable. You are responsible for reviewing output and approving consequential actions before relying on it.

6. Acceptable use

You may not use Cortext to:

  • Break applicable law or violate another person's rights.
  • Distribute malware, interfere with the service, or bypass security and license controls.
  • Use credentials, content, or systems without authorization.
  • Reverse engineer or redistribute Cortext except where applicable law expressly permits it.

7. Updates and availability

Cortext may provide free updates, security fixes, or changes to features. Features that depend on operating systems, model providers, websites, or other third parties may change or stop working. Cortext does not guarantee that every feature or online service will always remain available.

8. Intellectual property

Cortext, its branding, software, website, and documentation are protected by intellectual-property laws. Except for the license expressly granted above, all rights are reserved.

9. Suspension and termination

You may stop using Cortext at any time. Cortext may suspend online services or revoke a license obtained through fraud, payment reversal, unauthorized sharing, or a material breach of these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply.

10. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Cortext is provided as is and as available, without warranties of uninterrupted operation, fitness for a particular purpose, or error-free AI output. Rights that cannot legally be excluded remain in effect.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Cortext will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits, or business opportunities. Cortext's total liability arising from the product will not exceed the amount you paid for Cortext. This limitation does not apply where the law does not permit it.

12. Changes and contact

These terms may be updated as Cortext changes. The revised terms will be posted here with a new effective date. Questions can be sent to hello@cortext.app.
